Access to Capital Helps Farmer Expand Agricultural Activities and Strengthen Livelihood

For more than 15 years, Mr. Noy Saroeub has built his livelihood around agriculture. Through years of hands-on farming experience, careful crop management, and a strong commitment to improving his production, he has gradually expanded his farming activities and strengthened his family’s livelihood.

At 45 years old, Mr. Saroeub farms cashew, cassava, and soybeans in Teun Village, Teun Commune, Koun Mom District, Ratanakiri Province. One of his key challenges was having sufficient capital to maintain and expand his crops. To meet these needs, Mr. Saroeub has accessed financing from LOLC Cambodia through three successive loan cycles, with each loan supporting a different stage of his agricultural journey.

In 2022, his first loan was used to purchase cashew seedlings and agricultural fertilizer. As his farming activities grew, he obtained a second loan in 2024 to purchase seeds for cashew, cassava, and soybeans, as well as agricultural equipment. In 2026, his third loan enabled him to purchase additional agricultural land and fertilizers to support flowering, fruit development, and improved crop yields.

By carefully directing each loan toward his actual farming needs, Mr. Saroeub has expanded his cultivated area, strengthened his production capacity, and continued developing his agricultural business.

For him, farming is more than a source of income, it is a long-term livelihood for his family. With continued dedication and careful planning, he remains focused on improving his crops, expanding his farm, and creating better opportunities for his family.
