In Oddar Meanchey province’s Trapaeng Thom village, Lumtong commune, Anlong Veaeng district, Mrs. San Chhoeun and her husband have steadily transformed their livelihoods through hard work, determination and the effective use of financial services.
Over the years, the family has diversified its income sources, operating a noodle and soup business alongside wholesale and retail pork sales, while continuing to cultivate cassava and cashew crops. Through disciplined financial management and a strong commitment to their work, they have gradually improved their living conditions and built a more stable future.
Mrs. San Chhoeun began her journey with LOLC Cambodia in 2017, choosing the institution as her trusted financial partner to support both her agricultural activities and small business investments. With her first loan of 12 million riel, she expanded her farming operations by purchasing an additional two hectares of land for cassava cultivation.
Building on this progress, she accessed a second loan cycle in 2024 amounting to 28 million riel, which enabled her to invest in fertilisers and high-quality planting materials. This allowed her to expand her cassava cultivation across a total of eight hectares, significantly increasing her agricultural output.
In 2025, Mrs. Chhoeun continued with a third loan cycle of 40 million riel to purchase fertilisers and pesticides for her cashew and cassava crops, while further expanding cultivation to increase her sources of income. By 2026, seeing the continued growth of her businesses, she utilised a fourth loan cycle of 80 million riel to expand her noodle and soup business, increase her wholesale and retail pork sales operations, and purchase a tractor to improve the efficiency of her farming activities.
Today, Mrs. San Chhoeun’s businesses have grown significantly and generate stable income, enabling her family to maintain a better standard of living while continuing to invest in future business expansion. Mrs. Chhoeun firmly believes that choosing LOLC Cambodia as her financial partner has played an important role in supporting the growth of her businesses and contributing to the continuous improvement of her family’s livelihood.
