From Taxi Driver to Transport Business Owner: Mr. Ek Mab’s Journey of Growth with the Right Financial Partner

Witha taxi-driving career that spans more than 30 years, Mr. Mab has gained extensive experience from his business. With a strong sense of responsibility and a deep commitment to passenger safety, he has gradually built trust and confidence among his customers.

However, life’s journey has not always been smooth. In the beginning, he worked as a hired taxi driver, earning only a modest daily income. With limited earnings, his dream of owning his own business seemed far out of reach. Nevertheless, through careful consideration and perseverance, he made the decision to change his life by seeking new opportunities for his future.

A turning point came in 2016 when Mr. Mab partnered with LOLC Cambodia and applied for his first loan to purchase a vehicle. This decision marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life, allowing him to operate independently and take control of his income.

As his business gradually grew, in 2018, he secured a second loan to purchase another vehicle, creating an opportunity for his child to join the family business. By 2021, he expanded further by acquiring a 12-seat tourist van for rental services, opening an additional income stream.

Recognising increasing demand in the tourism sector, Mr. Mab continued to adapt. In 2026, he took another significant step by upgrading his vehicle to a 24-seat bus, enabling him to serve more customers and expand his business capacity.

Today, Mr. Mab owns three vehicles and operates a growing transport business. His achievements have led to a more stable income and significantly improved living conditions for his family. Beyond covering daily expenses, he is now able to save and plan for the future with confidence.
