LOLC joins with the National Bank of Cambodia in celebration of ASEAN Savings Day
Kampong Thom Province, October 31, 2023: LOLC, one of the leading deposit-taking microfinance institutions in Cambodia, joins the National Bank of Cambodia to celebrate ASEAN Savings Day at Stueng Sen Park, Kampong Thom Province, under the theme "Saving Habits for You and Your Family." This event aims to raise public awareness of the importance of saving money for future needs, emergencies, or unforeseen events.
The ASEAN Savings Program was attended by the Deputy Governor of Kampong Thom Province, local authorities, relevant departments and units in Kampong Thom Province, the Union Youth Federations of Cambodia, the Association of Banks in Cambodia, the Cambodia Microfinance Association, and representatives of banks and microfinance institutions in Cambodia, for a total of 1,000 participants.
There was also a financial literacy competition with three main themes: the role of savings in sustaining livelihoods and business development, the benefits of using products and services from official financial institutions to move toward success, and the importance of saving money to provide opportunities for the public, entrepreneurs, and students to compete and strengthen their financial literacy.
LOLC is honored to be a part of this important event and even more proud to see the Cambodian people's financial literacy improve. It should be noted that, while Cambodia promotes and improves financial inclusion, LOLC actively participates in this campaign by providing financial skills and knowledge to the community and in universities, as well as sharing meaningful financial literacy content on all LOLC social media every day.
