A Story of Growth: LOLC Cambodia Helps Small Business Owner Expand and Improve Family Livelihood

I am confident that my business will continue to grow and help improve my family’s living conditions as well,” said Mr. Sok Van.

Mr. Sok Van is the owner of a rental service business that provides tents, tables, bass speakers, fans, lights, and other supplies for various events. His business is in Dok Por Village, Voa Sar Commune, Samraong Tong District, Kampong Speu Province. In addition to his rental business, he also runs grocery business at home.

In response to the increasing support from his customers, Mr. Van has been using loans from LOLC (Cambodia) since 2016. Seeing the progress after using a loan from LOLC (Cambodia) to expand his business, Mr. Van has continued to take out additional loans up to the present to purchase more equipment to support his rental business such as tents, tables, bass speakers, fans, lights, as well as buying more goods and supplies for grocery business.

After receiving financial support from LOLC Cambodia, Mr. Sok Van’s businesses have not only grown significantly but also allowed him to serve more customers promptly and efficiently. Moreover, his family’s living conditions have noticeably improved. He has been able to renovate his house for greater comfort and build a concrete fence around it to ensure better safety and security for his family.
