Additionally, both branches generously provided benches to the schools. The events took place at Smach Meanchey Primary School and O’svay Secondary School. The primary objective of these donations is to enhance the educational experience and overall well-being of the students by supplying them with necessary study materials and benches, thereby fostering a more conducive learning environment.

    In the last week of July, the Sustainability Management Team traveled to Pailin and Stung Treng Province to conduct training sessions on effective debt management for clients and community members. This financial education awareness training provided valuable insights, enabling participants to make informed decisions about borrowing and using loans properly to mitigate future risks. Through this initiative, LOLC Cambodia reaffirmed its commitment to raising awareness and aligning with its Client Protection Principles for sustainable growth. From July 30 to 31, 2024, the team delivered 9 training sessions to a diverse group of 170 participants, including 115 women. The training locations are detailed below: 1.     On August 10th, 2024, the Baray District Branch of LOLC Cambodia conducted a donation event at Kampong Thmor High School, located in Thun Mong village, Kampong Thmor commune, Kampong Thom province. Our staff, driven by a spirit of community and support, generously donated essential study materials, including books, pens, and notebooks, as well as benches, ream paper and rubbish bins as well. These activities demonstrate a significant contribution to advancing educational development. They reflect a direct commitment to encouraging students to pursue their studies diligently and strive for personal growth. The initiative involved the donation of essential items, including rice, fish sauce, soy sauce, and floor mats, to the “Battambang Orphanage” located in Chomkar Somraong 1 Village, Chomkar Somraong Commune, Battambang City, Battambang Province. This social activity took place on September 14, 2024, with the aim of contributing food to the children living in the orphanage to ensure they have enough to eat, as well as to show the care and love from the employees of LOLC Cambodia.

    From October 22 to October 23, 2024, LOLC Cambodia organized training course in several villages to promote financial education awareness. The main objective of this offer was to impart knowledge to the public, especially LOLC Cambodia’s clients, on the effectiveness of Debt Management. It aimed to enhance their ability to effectively use loans. The training also highlighted the risks of using informal loans, which could lead borrowers into over-indebtedness. In this regards, LOLC Cambodia encouraged participants to carefully consider selecting trustworthy financial institutions, clearly understanding interest rates, and having a purpose for borrowing to achieve financial growth, which could help them build long-term financial stability. Over these two days, the LOLC team conducted 8 training sessions, with a total of 199 participants, including 180 women, in the villages listed below: 1. On October 26, 2024, the Kampong Trach branch organized a community event aimed at promoting education and improving the environment. In this event, we provided benches and office supplies for teachers, as well as distributed school supplies to students. The staff from the Kampong Trach branch also brought several trees and planted them within the school grounds to provide shade and enhance the environment for students as the trees grow. This community event took place at Kaoh Tromung primary school, located in Kaoh Tromung Village, Boeng Sala Khang Cheung Commune, Kampong Trach District, Kampot Province. This event was participated by village chiefs, school directors, teachers, LOLC Cambodia staff, and students. This clearly demonstrates LOLC Cambodia’s commitment to community development through corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.

This training was not only offered to LOLC Cambodia clients but also to other villagers, with a total of 152 participants, including 127 women, from various villages and communes as outlined below: 1.
