Early in the morning, Mr. Yem Theng rises quickly from his bed to prepare for his daily routine, driving his vehicle to pick up factory workers and transport them to their workplace. This has been his regular occupation. Besides transporting workers, Mr. Theng is also a vendor selling "chap houy" desserts, operating in Trapeang Buon Village, Svay Commune, Samaki Meanchey District, Kampong Chhnang Province.
Mr. Theng mentioned that while his family's living conditions were stable, he saw an opportunity to increase his income and grow his business further. Mrs. La owns a rice mill located in Prasat Village, Prasat Commune, Kampong Trabaek District, Prey Veng Province. She buys rice from farmers both within and outside the region, stocks it for sale, and mills it into rice to fulfill orders from her customers, both retail and wholesale. In 2018, Mrs. La faced a shortage of capital for business operations.
Due to an urgent and necessary need for additional capital to purchase rice for stockpiling and milling into rice for sale, Mrs. La sought a reliable financial partner who could support her business expansion. She decided to apply for a loan from LOLC Cambodia and has continued using the loans up to the present, across two cycles, thanks to her trust in LOLC Cambodia’s excellent services. The first cycle was 15,000 USD, and the second cycle amounted to 60,000,000 Riels.
